Mission/Vision Statement
At Catrines Mariachi Academy, we don’t just train performers—we nurture musicians, honor our culture, and build community. Our mission is to offer every student a path to musical mastery, fair opportunity, and a lifelong connection to mariachi. When students grow with us, they grow with support that never ends.
We envision a mariachi academy where every student, regardless of background or skill level, has the opportunity to grow into a confident musician with access to real education, meaningful mentorship, and cultural pride. Our goal is to create a legacy—an ongoing community of performers and educators who support each other, preserve tradition, and inspire future generations through music.

Beginner
Advanced
Performer
Our Beginner Class is the essential first step for every student joining our academy. This course builds a solid foundation in mariachi music, ensuring that you’re fully prepared for the advanced level. Completing the beginner class is required before advancing — and we can’t wait to see you grow into the next stage of your musical journey!
Students must complete the Beginner Class or have at least two years of mariachi experience to jump into the Advanced class. Those wishing to bypass the beginner level will have their skills evaluated in person by our instructors to ensure proper placement.
The Performer Level is the highest honor within our academy — reserved for students who are ready to represent us on stage with pride and professionalism. This level transforms dedicated musicians into leaders and ambassadors of mariachi, showcasing their artistry at public events and inspiring the next generation. Only the most committed students earn this distinction.
Advanced Course
Our Advanced Level is designed for students who are ready to take their mariachi skills to the next stage. This program focuses on ensemble performance, advanced techniques, and preparing students for live events and professional opportunities. Advanced students have access to the Beginner level classes for free. Take advantage of this offer to learn a second instrument or help the instructors teach the new students.
IMPORTANT NOTE: To complete each level, students must demonstrate the ability to perform every song for their instructor. In addition, students are required to sing at a recital before advancing to the next level. Details about recital dates and format will be provided in the future.
Performer Course
After completing all four Advanced Levels, students may choose to graduate or step into the Performer Level. As a Performer, you will carry the academy’s name into the community, form professional-level mariachi groups with your peers, and receive exclusive, personalized music arrangements written by Juan Carlos Rodriguez. You will work side by side with our coaches, refining your craft and preparing for real-world performance opportunities. This level is a celebration of dedication, excellence, and a true passion for mariachi.

Take your skills to the next level with our private group coaching sessions. For $300, your group can schedule a
90-minute intensive session with our instructors to refine your sound, tighten your harmonies, and polish your stage presence.
Whether you’re preparing for a performance, competition, or just want to grow as a team, these sessions give you personalized feedback and professional guidance to elevate your music.

Your monthly payment covers expert instruction, sheet music, access to academy resources, and participation in rehearsals and recitals.
